Week of National Flags and Costumes

In the middle of October, we celebrate the most colorful week of the year — the Week of National Flags and Costumes! This year’s emphasis was on National Costumes — traditional and contemporary. During this event, students, teachers and staff have a chance to not to wear their bright and various national costumes, but also to learn a lot about other countries’ cultures and traditions. Students get to prepare and show presentations in which they tell their classmates about different nations, their heritage, folklore and much more. These activities are especially important in today’s multicultural world, where cultural awareness is of great value. At the end of the week, class feasts take place, with students and teachers sharing recipes and sampling some of the most delicious dishes of cuisines from all around the world.
