Give Thanks. History of Thanksgiving Holiday
Thanksgiving week was even brighter than usual this year!
Each Learning Center adopted its own color, which gave new shades to the holiday. The Chapel assembly featured a puppet show, after which students heard the story of Christopher Columbus’s journey to America and learned the history of Thanksgiving, a day of expressing gratitude for all that God has given us.
The celebration was accompanied by many themed games. The high school students had great fun drawing the turkey. The younger school children eagerly “dressed” the turkey in paper feathers with their eyes closed, played musical hat and “Roll the Potatoes.” There was a turkey hunt going on throughout the school, but not a real one yet.
On Friday, according to tradition, the “Food Sculpture” competition was held, but this time the tradition was enriched and for the first time the “Cook Book” competition was held as well. We witnessed many new talents and outstanding masterpieces.
In conclusion, another integral part of the holiday took place – the traditional Thanksgiving dinner with a turkey at the head of the table, solemnly served by the Indian Squanto himself, whose role was played by an equally important hero – our beloved director.
We talked a lot about gratitude and each student shared what they were grateful for.
May you be godly, content, and grateful during this Thanksgiving season and always!
Share love and joy with your loved ones!
